Port Stephens Futures Project

Phillip Daffara was engaged by Port Stephens Council as a Futurist, Project Mentor and Co-facilitator for their Futures Project (2009)

Key outcomes:

• Engage and provoke participants at the Future Forum to consider long term mega-trends and consider the implications for Port Stephens’ valued qualities of life

Key outputs:

• Keynote presentation;
• Project Mentoring in regard to appropriate futures tools and methods to be used at the Future Forum including:
•                 Futures Triangle to understand forces of change;
•                 Futures Tree to collect ideas;
•                 Place Timeline to understand collective history;
•                 Backcasting ideas and identifying barriers.
• Co-facilitation at the Future Forum with Straightalk.

The futures methods were converted into graphic  table worksheets by Guy Downes.
